Teen Stabbing Victim Shawn Edwards’ Murder – A Cold Case On Crime Junkie
Crime Junkie, a show that sheds light upon the biggest of mysterious crime cases in the US recently featured Shawn Edward and his unsolved murder story on its show.
As per the occurrence, Shawn informed his mother that he had to go right away to visit a buddy. Edwards sneaked out since he was denied the permission he requested.
Shawn was in seventh grade, it was a Tuesday night, and the outside temperature was eleven degrees. Her baby and the youngest of her five children snuck out. Little did anyone know that this was just the beginning of the nightmares his family would have to go through forever.
The next morning, Jan. 16, 1986, at around six in the morning, a Middletown High School custodian discovered Shawn’s body outside the building, having been battered and stabbed but with fresh blood.
He was so young and his murderer could never get tracked.
There is now a five-figure reward for information that results in the capture of a suspect, according to Middletown Detective Sgt. Nicholas C. DeRosa. He also said that the state police lab in Albany is employing DNA technology, which wasn’t accessible in 1986, to reexamine evidence found at the crime scene.
The announcement occurs just a few days before the 16th anniversary of Edwards’ passing. No matter how many years have gone by, it’s still wonderful news in Cynthia Edwards’ eyes.
Despite all the suspects being named, and the case going on, there seems to be more confusion rather than a solid conclusion.
